Cruise work

What is it?

The Seafarers' Mission reaches out to the hundreds of cruise ships with thousands of employees on board that visit Danish ports, such as Aarhus. Some of these seafarers work many hours a day for months away from their families. We invite them to e.g. Aarhus Seamens Clubwhere they can take a well-deserved break to relax, call home to family on free WiFi, have a chat, play basketball and more. These are people from many different backgrounds, but each one is loved by God. We want them to feel seen and welcomed. The whole organisation is run by volunteer forcesSo if you know someone or would like to lend a hand yourself, please contact us.

How can I help?

Cruise Mission started in 2016 in Aarhus harbour, expanded to Copenhagen and Skagen in 2017 and is now in Skagen and Aarhus. So what can you do? The primary service is to host the café, i.e. invite the sailors to the café and hang out with them there, serve a cup of coffee, etc. In high season, 2-3 ships arrive per week, so we need lots of volunteer hands.
